For shops, it's basically the same type of shops you'll see in any cruise port, with some exceptions of "local" items in various kiosks. Many "local" items aren't local. I think there are now 2 restaurants in the port complex, one's a Senor Frog's (very over priced from mediocre stuff). Mahahual Beach is the closest beach to the Costa Maya cruise port and is one of the best beaches in the region. It is a beautiful stretch of white sand and crystal-clear turquoise water. The beach has many amenities, including restaurants, bars, and souvenir shops. Visitors can also rent beach chairs, umbrellas, and water sports equipment.1. Maya Chan Beach.
