The problem with short trading is the potential loss is unlimited. When you go long, the worst that can happen is it goes to $0 and you lose your entire investment. But when you go short you can lose more than you invested. Say you shorted 100 shares of that stock at $200 ($20,000 investment), but instead of going down, the stock goes up.
